Walnut Canyon's Counseling Corner

Meet Ms. Reyes

Paola Reyes

Hello!

My name is Paola Reyes. I received a B.A. in Dance and Latin American Studies from the University of California Riverside, an M.A. in Counseling with a College Counseling and Student Services Specialization from the University of San Diego and a PPS credential from California Lutheran University. I also had the great opportunity to study abroad with UCLA to Spain, Morocco and Portugal.

I have been working in K-college education for over 20 years at different capacities throughout Ventura and San Diego counties. Ten of those years have been spent as a school counselor. My goal as a counselor is to support students’ success in their academic, personal and social development through classroom lessons, counseling groups and individual counseling.

In my spare time, I love to dance, travel, and spend time with my family.

School Counseling Program

Walnut Canyon's Counseling Program strives to teach students to be safe, responsible, respectful, and kind. These attributes align with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) mindsets and behaviors to support our students' academic, social-emotional and college and career development. We do this by implementing a Comprehensive Program that promotes prevention and intervention strategies such as classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling to help students increase their knowledge, attitude, and skills in those areas.  We partner with parents, teachers, and other community members to ensure the students have the appropriate resources to help them succeed in school and in life.
